Five of Denmark’s biggest advertising agencies decided to challenge the views on the Danish media picture, through a Media Battle between media moguls TV2 and Google - Format was invited to conceptualize, coordinate and execute the event.
The main challenge was to design the battle format to ensure optimal coverage of 4 main subjects and providing sufficient opportunities for the two opponents to present their viewpoints, as well as a chance to defend it. Format created a format that accommodated the required specs and suited the well-regarded host, journalist Martin Krasnik, in order for him to challenge TV2 and Google through throat-cutting questions. Furthermore, the set-up supported audience involvement through a SMS poll, which were used actively in the battle.
The battle took place at the beautiful Nationalmuseum, where 150 specially invited guests arrived for breakfast and coffee in the exquisite yard followed by the Media Battle in the cinema. While the the danish media picture is nuanced and fragmented, the Media Battle delivered a profound presentation of current tendencies and challenges, and shed light on the opportunities each media endures.
Format delivered technical set-up, conceptualization and venue design, as well as planning and executing the Media Battle, including handling of venue, catering, press and presentations. The result was an aesthetic set-up with screens in wooden frames within the cinema and an impeccably technical performance that guided the opponents and host to perform their best.
